Italeri Junkers Ju 88 A-17 Torpedo Bomber Aircraft. Scale 1:72. The twin-engine Junkers Ju 88 bomber was undoubtedly one of the pillars of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. Extremely robust, versatile and flexible, it was used as a conventional bomber, night fighter, ground-attack aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft and torpedo bomber. The Ju 88 A-17 was developed from the same airframe as the A-4 bomber version, characterised by its low-wing configuration and its two reliable and powerful 1.700 HP BMW radial engines. Nevertheless, several substantial modifications were introduced to allow the use of naval torpedoes adapted for launch from aircraft. The Ju 88 A-17 was used against Allied maritime traffic in the main theatres of operations, from the North Sea to the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
