HISTORY OF THE T-34/85
The T-34 was one of the most representative armoured vehicles of the Soviet forces during the Second World War. Its sloped front armour and wide tracks favoured protection and mobility. In 1943, it received a new turret with heavier armour, designed for the long 85 mm gun; with the first T-34/85 tanks in service, the Soviet armies were able to face German tanks such as the Tiger and Panther on equal terms.
