VEHICLE HISTORY
Italeri identifies this vehicle as a Tiger I adapted for the technical and logistical support of front-line armoured units, known to the Allies as the “Bergetiger”. According to the historical information published by the brand, it retained the Tiger I’s chassis, tracks and heavy armour, but replaced the main gun with a crane for towing and lifting loads. It was also equipped with spare parts, repair tools and reserve ammunition; the brand states that there are no official production figures and that some examples may have been produced by Wehrmacht field workshops.
