HISTORY OF THE M7 PRIEST
- The M7 was developed on the chassis of the M3 Lee medium tank and mounted an M2A1 105 mm howitzer.
- British troops first used it in combat in 1942 and gave it the nickname “Priest” because of the arrangement of its front-mounted machine gun.
- It was used by the United States Army and the United States Marines on all fronts during the Second World War.
