HISTORICAL CONTEXT
This production version of the Tiger I, manufactured during the second half of 1943, was based on the chassis of the first operational version used in North Africa and Russia. Italeri notes the use of rubber-rimmed wheels, a turret with greater protection and an improved commander’s cupola. Some units retained Feifel dust filters and smoke grenade launchers; from August 1943, anti-magnetic mine paste was applied.
