MODEL HISTORY
The Tornado was jointly developed by British, German and Italian companies. This twin-engined variable-sweep wing aircraft mainly carried out low-level attack missions, although it was also assigned ground-attack, electronic warfare, reconnaissance and interception roles. Its combat debut took place during the 1991 Gulf War; the air campaign began on 17 January and involved Italian Tornado IDS aircraft against military targets and infrastructure.
