HISTORY OF THE HAWKER HURRICANE
- According to Italeri, it was the most widely produced and operated fighter by the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II.
- It was powered by a liquid-cooled, 12-cylinder in-line Rolls-Royce Merlin engine producing over 1,000 HP, and carried eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns.
- It operated alongside the Supermarine Spitfire during the Battle of Britain; Italeri highlights its robustness and ease of maintenance, repair and piloting.
