HISTORY OF THE HURRICANE MK. IIC
The Hawker Hurricane was one of the British Royal Air Force’s most widely used fighters at the beginning of the Second World War and played an important role during the Battle of Britain. As the conflict progressed, it was gradually replaced on the front line by the Spitfire, while taking on more specialised duties. The Mk. IIC variant carried four 20 mm Hispano-Suiza cannons in the wings, with almost 400 rounds, a configuration that increased its effectiveness in ground attack, close support and night-fighter missions.
