MODEL HISTORY
The Boeing EA-18G Growler was developed to meet the U.S. Navy’s need for a carrier-based aircraft specialised in electronic warfare to replace the Grumman EA-6B Prowler. It is derived from the two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter and features a dedicated electronic warfare system instead of the 20 mm cannon. It can operate with radar-jamming pods, external fuel tanks and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.
