HISTORY OF THE F-15E STRIKE EAGLE
- The F-15E was developed from the F-15 design as a two-seat fighter-bomber for all-weather conditions.
- It entered service with the USAF in the late 1980s for ground-attack, bombing and interdiction missions.
- It retained the F-15’s twin-tail and mid-wing configuration, together with a tandem cockpit for the pilot and the weapon systems officer.
