HISTORY OF THE MODEL REPRESENTED
The UH-1N was developed by Bell Helicopter in the late 1960s. In Italy, an equivalent version was manufactured under licence and designated AB-212. This medium helicopter, derived from the Model 205, is distinguished by its elongated fuselage. The ICO modernisation of the Italian AB 212s added 7.62 mm machine guns on the side doors, anti-missile flare launchers and additional ceramic and Kevlar protection; this configuration was used from 2006 in Afghanistan as part of the ISAF mission.
