HISTORY OF THE CH-47 CHINOOK
The Boeing CH-47 Chinook was developed to meet the United States Army’s transport requirements as a replacement for the H-21. Its tandem-rotor configuration is one of its most recognisable features. The Chinook family has included numerous versions and has been used by various countries; the Royal Air Force is the largest operator outside the United States. It has also been deployed in theatres such as the Falklands, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan.
