HISTORY OF THE M4A3E8 SHERMAN
The M4 Sherman was the main tank used by the United States during the Second World War and formed the basis of its armoured forces. The M4A3E8 version began production at the end of 1944; it incorporated the M1 76 mm high-velocity gun and HVSS horizontal volute spring suspension, designed to improve driving performance and speed. The “Easy Eight” took part in the final phase of the Second World War and also in the Korean War.
