VEHICLE HISTORY
- The M8 Greyhound was developed during the Second World War to provide greater protection and firepower for reconnaissance duties in the United States Army.
- Its 37 mm gun in the turret facilitated support for ground troops.
- It was first used on the Italian front, between Monte Cassino and Anzio, and later took part in the D-Day operations in June 1944.
- The M20 was derived from the M8 and was assigned to Military Police duties and used as a command vehicle.
