VEHICLE HISTORY
Italian tank production during the Second World War focused on the “M” series. The M13/40 was the best-known and most widespread tank of the Regio Esercito; the M40 self-propelled gun, armed with a 75 mm howitzer installed in a casemate, was also developed on its chassis. Italeri states that the combined use of the M13/40 and the Semoventi made it possible to offset the tank’s limited firepower, and that both evolved during the conflict in terms of technical solutions and armament.
