VEHICLE HISTORY
- The Sturmgeschütz IV was developed on the Panzer IV chassis to provide the German army with an assault gun that could also act as a tank destroyer during the final stages of the Second World War.
- It was fitted with a 75 mm StuK 40 L/48 gun installed in a casemate.
- Distribution to units began in early 1944, and it often supplemented or replaced the StuG III.
