HISTORICAL CONTEXT
- The German 150 mm SFH18 howitzer was widely used by the Wehrmacht on the main fronts of the Second World War.
- Rheinmetall and Krupp developed this gun during the 1920s and 1930s.
- The SFH18 had a maximum firing range of 13.5 km and could be towed by horses or half-track vehicles.
- A 105 mm calibre version with a longer barrel was developed on the same carriage and manufactured in a small number of examples.
