HISTORY OF THE T-55 A
The T-54/T-55 family of medium tanks was produced by the Soviet Union after the Second World War. The T-55 evolved from the T-54 with an improved engine, more space for ammunition and more effective NBC protection. It was armed with a 100 mm gun, reached a total weight of 35 tonnes and was used for decades in numerous theatres of operations.
