VEHICLE HISTORY
- The Sd.Kfz. 265 Kleine Panzerbefehlswagen was developed as a command vehicle to accompany Panzer divisions and facilitate their coordination on the battlefield.
- It was based on the chassis of the Panzer I Ausf. B and replaced the turret with a fixed superstructure intended for the command post, maps, and transmission and communication equipment.
- It entered production in the second half of the 1930s, was first used in the Spanish Civil War and, at the beginning of the Second World War, some examples were transferred to signals units or converted into ambulances.
