HISTORY OF THE T-62
- Derived from the T-55, it was for years a central element of Soviet armoured units and those of the Warsaw Pact countries.
- It incorporated improved armour and aiming systems, as well as a high-velocity 115 mm smoothbore gun.
- It entered service at the beginning of the 1960s and, in different versions, took part in conflicts from Afghanistan to the Middle East.
