HISTORY OF THE LCVP
- The LCVP was developed by Higgins Industries in New Orleans from a flat-bottomed boat used in the swampy areas of Louisiana.
- It took part in the main amphibious operations of the Second World War, both in Europe and in the Pacific.
- Its function was to transport men, light vehicles and equipment from large ships to the beach.
