HISTORY OF THE S.L.C. “MAIALE”
- The Siluro a Lenta Corsa was developed and perfected in 1935 by Teseo Tesei and Elios Toschi.
- It was a torpedo guided underwater by two operators equipped with breathing apparatus and intended to place an explosive charge beneath the keel of enemy ships.
- In December 1941, units transported by the submarine Scirè attacked the battleships HMS Valiant and HMS Queen Elizabeth in Alexandria.
