HISTORY OF THE BIBER
- It was the best-known midget submarine used by the Kriegsmarine during the final phase of the Second World War.
- Its design began in February 1944, and the first units sailed six months later.
- It could carry two external 530 mm torpedoes or two mines and was operated by a single crew member.
- From 1944 until the end of the war, more than 300 units were received and commissioned.
