HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE
The M3 was developed by White Motor Company from 1938 as an armoured reconnaissance vehicle for the United States Army. It featured four-wheel drive and was used for patrols, reconnaissance and as a command post. According to Italeri, it was first used in the Philippines in 1941 and also operated in North Africa, Sicily and on the Eastern Front, where some Soviet units used it to tow 76 mm ZIS-3 guns.
