VEHICLE HISTORY
- The Panzer IV was used by the Wehrmacht throughout the Second World War and became the basis of the Panzer divisions on the various fronts.
- The Ausf. H version entered service in mid-1943 with the 75 mm KwK 40 L/48 gun, which had greater penetrating power against enemy armoured vehicles.
- This variant incorporated Schürzen side armour on the hull and turret; its use was frequently associated with the application of Zimmerit on the armour.
