HISTORY OF THE OPEL BLITZ
- The Opel Blitz was the main truck used by the German forces during the Second World War and was widely employed on all fronts.
- Its robust chassis, rigid axles with leaf springs and twin rear wheels allowed it to carry more than 3 tonnes of payload.
- In addition to transport duties, its spacious load area made it possible to use it as a mobile command post equipped with radio communications to coordinate troops in the field.
