VEHICLE HISTORY
The Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper (sWS) was developed as a medium half-track vehicle for transporting supplies and towing light artillery. The Panzerwerfer 42 variant was fitted with a 15 cm Nebelwerfer 42 rocket launcher and ten tubes on an armoured ammunition compartment. Initially designed to create smoke screens, the launcher went on to use high-explosive ammunition. The vehicle received additional protection for the crew against enemy fire and the effects of rocket launches.
