VEHICLE HISTORY
The Camionetta Desertica Model 42 «Sahariana» was developed for the Italian Regio Esercito based on the chassis and mechanics of the AB 41 armoured car. On the African front, it was used for reconnaissance and rapid raids, aided by its low profile, large wheels and range. Depending on the configuration, it could be equipped with a Breda 20/65, a 47/32 anti-tank gun or a 20 mm Solothurn anti-tank rifle.
