VEHICLE HISTORY
The DUKW was developed to meet the logistical needs of American landing forces, facilitating the rapid transport of cargo from ships to beaches. Italeri states that this amphibious variant shared the basic mechanical components of the GMC CCKW-353, with a six-cylinder engine, three differentials and six driven wheels.
