VEHICLE HISTORY
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was produced by the German brand from 1954 onwards. Its designation stands for Sport Leicht, and the coupé featured a tubular frame, a longitudinally mounted front engine with a displacement of 2,996 cc, a four-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. It reached a top speed of 260 km/h; its upward-opening doors, known as Gullwing doors, became the most recognisable feature of its design.
