HISTORY OF THE REAL MODEL
- The LTV A-7 Corsair II was developed in the first half of the 1960s to meet the United States Navy's need for a new lightweight carrier-based attack aircraft.
- It was derived from the airframe of the Vought F-8 Crusader and featured a forward air intake, 35° swept folding wings and a HUD.
- The A-7E was the last version manufactured for the U.S. Navy, with improved operational capabilities and the use of Harpoon and AGM-88 HARM missiles.
