MODEL HISTORY
The Republic F-84 Thunderjet was developed in the immediate post-war period as a jet-powered fighter-bomber for the USAF. Its configuration combined a circular nose air intake, straight wings and a tricycle nose-wheel landing gear, while the General Electric/Allison J35 engine enabled it to reach speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. The F-84G variant entered production in 1951 and was used by the USAF and various NATO countries; from 1952 it also equipped fighter units of the Italian Air Force.
