HISTORY OF THE REAL AIRCRAFT
- More than 20,000 Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft were manufactured from 1941 onwards, and together with the Messerschmitt Bf 109 it was one of the Luftwaffe's best-known fighter aircraft.
- The D-9 development adopted the liquid-cooled 12-cylinder Junkers Jumo 213 engine, a modification that required the aircraft's nose to be lengthened.
