HISTORY OF THE AC-130H SPECTRE
The Lockheed AC-130 Spectre was an armed tactical support version derived from the C-130 Hercules. It initially replaced the AC-47 and AC-119 in support missions during the Vietnam War, where the first AC-130 arrived in South Vietnam on 21 September 1967 and began operating that same year. After the conflict, the C-130H-based variant was developed, equipped with more powerful engines, four-bladed propellers, and improved navigation and night-vision systems.
